This role will involve identifying new opportunities, building relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring successful project execution from initial estimate to final installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the growth of the architectural metals division by expanding the company's footprint across Southern California, increasing revenue through strategic opportunities.
- Work in close partnership with internal teams to set, track, and exceed sales targets and estimating objectives.
- Cultivate long-lasting relationships with clients, thoroughly understanding their needs and positioning the company as a reliable and preferred service provider.
- Influence decision-makers in the construction and contracting industry, establishing the company as the go-to supplier for architectural metals.
- Manage a pipeline of potential opportunities, ensuring a proactive and strategic approach to securing new business.
- Assess and analyze project documents, including drawings and specifications, to deliver accurate cost estimates for upcoming projects.
- Prepare and submit detailed estimates for new projects while working with operations to calculate costs for change orders on existing work.
- Build and maintain a database of potential clients and business prospects to drive future sales.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and market conditions, focusing efforts on identifying high-value opportunities.
- Align daily activities with the company’s core values and strategic goals to maintain a strong cultural fit.
Key Qualifications:
- At least 7 years of experience within the construction or specialty contracting sector, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated to sales and estimating, particularly in the steel or architectural metals industry.
- A Bachelor's degree is preferred, but significant practical experience will be considered in place of formal education.
- Proven ability to design and execute effective, data-driven sales and marketing strategies.
- Strong leadership qualities, with a demonstrated ability to inspire and guide teams towards achieving goals.
- Highly self-motivated, with exceptional problem-solving abilities and the interpersonal skills necessary to build lasting relationships.
- A well-established network of influential professionals in the construction and general contracting industries.
- Expertise in competitor analysis, identifying client needs, and creating tailored sales strategies to win new business.
- In-depth knowledge of market dynamics, industry competition, and accurate forecasting.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time throughout Southern California to build client relationships and generate new business opportunities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to create clear reports and effectively update stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Bluebeam, and adaptable to new software tools as needed.
